Built by movers
35+ years of household goods relocation behind us, which is why the vehicle is treated as part of someone's move rather than as a load.
Anyone can move a car from A to B on a good day. What separates transport providers is what happens on the other days, and whether you find out about it from us or from your customer.
Clutch Auto Transport is a nationwide vehicle transport provider built inside a moving company. Clutch vets every carrier for operating authority, active insurance, safety history, and performance on prior Clutch loads; provides live shipment visibility through the Clutch Transport Portal instead of status phone calls; and covers both business and individual shipping across all 48 continental states with a single point of accountability per account.
Clutch came out of a parent company that has handled household goods relocation for more than 35 years. Dircks has been moving families and businesses since 1990, and in that time the same request came up on move after move: the customer moving their home also needed their vehicles moved.
For years the answer was to hand that piece to someone else, and then take the phone call when it went badly. So we built Clutch to stop doing that.
That history is the difference, and it is not a marketing line. We know what a move actually feels like from the inside: the closing date that slipped, the first night in an empty house, the week of not knowing where anything is. A vehicle that does not show up when it was promised is not a logistics exception to the person waiting on it. It is one more thing going wrong during the most stressful month they have had in years.
Taking that piece off their plate, and off yours, is the whole reason this company exists. Visibility, because chasing a status update should not be your job. One accountable contact, because a general queue is where a problem goes to sit. And carrier vetting that is stricter than it has to be, because the cheapest carrier is only cheap until the day it is not.

Quote, book, track, deliver. If a step requires explaining, we have designed it wrong.
Vetted carriers across all 48 continental states, matched to lanes they already run rather than posted and hoped for.
People who have handled the downstream consequences of a late vehicle, because they came from the moving side of it.
Authority, insurance, and safety history verified before assignment, then monitored afterward rather than taken on trust once.
One vehicle or a hundred, open or enclosed, consumer or contract. The same network serves all of it.
Authority, insurance, safety history, ratings, and our own record of how a carrier has performed on Clutch loads.
What a business account gets: instant pricing, one-click orders, live tracking, and reporting.
Company background, structure, and credentials, written for someone running a vendor evaluation.
Bring your lanes and your requirements. We will tell you plainly what we can do and what we cannot.
