For businesses

Most of what we move, we move for another business

Roughly 95% of Clutch volume comes from companies that ship vehicles as part of how they operate. Pick the one that sounds like you.

Clutch Transport Portal

Stop emailing for a status update

The portal is where a business account actually lives. Price a lane, turn the quote into an order in one click, and watch the shipment move without calling anyone.

  • Instant pricing and automated quotes on your lanes
  • One-click order conversion from quote to booked
  • Live shipment tracking and full order history
  • Manager and admin visibility across your whole team
  • User-level permissions so a branch sees only its own orders
  • Reporting you can hand to your finance team
  • Simplified order entry for the lanes you run every week
How it works

Four steps, and only one of them is yours

Tell us the lane

Pickup, delivery, vehicle, and roughly when. Businesses do this in the portal; individuals use the quote form.

We price and assign

We match the lane to a vetted carrier already running it, rather than posting it and hoping.

Pickup and inspection

The driver documents the vehicle's condition at pickup, with you or your customer present.

Delivery and sign-off

Condition is documented again at delivery. You get the paperwork; your customer gets their car.

Shipping one vehicle? That works too

Organized by the reason you are shipping, because that is what actually changes the answer.

What we commit to

The promises behind the price

Every carrier is vetted

Active operating authority, current cargo insurance verified at source, and FMCSA safety history checked before a carrier is ever assigned to your vehicle.

We handle the claim

In the rare event of damage, Clutch manages the claims process from first notice to resolution, coordinating directly with the carrier and the insurer. You do not chase it.

You can see the status

Business accounts track every vehicle in the Clutch Transport Portal. No calling dispatch to find out where a car is.

A real point of contact

One person who knows your account, not a general queue that restarts the conversation every time you call.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Does Clutch ship for businesses, individuals, or both?

Both. About 95% of what Clutch moves is for businesses that ship vehicles regularly, such as moving companies, dealerships, relocation management companies, auctions, and fleets. Individuals shipping a single vehicle are welcome too, and can get a price from the online quote form without talking to anyone.

What areas does Clutch cover?

All 48 continental states, door to door. Alaska and Hawaii involve ocean carriers and are handled case by case.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?

Open transport uses the familiar multi-car hauler and is what most vehicles ship on. Enclosed transport uses a covered trailer that protects the vehicle from weather and road debris, and costs more. See our full comparison in Open vs. Enclosed Transport.

Is my vehicle insured while it is being transported?

Every carrier in the Clutch network is required to carry active cargo insurance, and we verify it before a carrier is assigned. Coverage limits vary by carrier and by whether the vehicle ships open or enclosed.

Does Clutch own its own trucks?

No. Clutch Auto Transport LLC is a licensed property broker, USDOT 2227267 and MC-398927, registered with the FMCSA since 2011. Clutch arranges transport through a vetted network of motor carriers rather than operating its own fleet. That is a deliberate model: it means capacity on far more lanes than any single fleet could cover, and it puts the emphasis on how carefully carriers are selected. See Carrier Safety and Vetting for the standard applied.

How is Clutch related to Dircks?

Clutch Auto Transport is part of the Dircks family of companies. Dircks has been moving since 1990, and Clutch was built to handle vehicle transport specifically. That background is why Clutch is set up around what moving companies and relocation providers actually need.

Can my company get contract pricing?

Yes. Businesses that ship regularly get lane-based pricing and access to the Clutch Transport Portal, where your team can quote, book, and track without going through a salesperson each time. Schedule a call and we will look at your lanes.
